Winter has come once again and the old lack-of-light depression is knocking our doors. Tough shit!. An excellent way to stay sane in this time of year is to go fishing as often as possible. Last Sunday I did just that when I visited a couple of well known spots close to Kalundborg.
A month ago a lot of rainbow trouts got away from a fish farm during a Danish storm. Since then we´ve seen a couple of reports now and then on decent rainbow catches. On the first spot I visited I saw at least 15 of these rainbows. They were in groups of 2-3 fish and they seemed a bit disoriented. I tried to catch them with a number of different flies but without any real luck. Instead I got a nice little seatrout on apx. 40 cm which I released.

After some hours of fishing I changed location to a spot with much more wind and waves. I always prefer to fish in windy conditions because it makes seatrouts more aggresive. But the change didn´t really help the fishing and I saw nothing more this day except for a hungry seal.

I am really looking forward to more fishing over the next weeks. The warm winter temperatures are great news for seatrout anglers and the reports I´ve seen lately shows that there are great catches to make for eager swagtrouters. Have fun!
