May is a wonderful fishing month in Denmark. The garfish arrive at our coasts and the pike season opens. Garfish is good fun and a great way for beginners to try out fishing for the first time.
Thursday I went with Marius for garfish at my favorite garfish spot Dragør Sydstrand close to Copenhagen. The plan was to catch some garfish for my father, who is a big fan of these greenboned beauties. The setting was something to remember with the sunny blue sky above, the green water around us and 30 kitesurfers surfing some hundred meters away.
For Marius it was the first time he wore a couple of waders and it didn´t take too long before he also caught his first garfish. Great fun on light gear!
