Thomas Lüdecke Jørgensen experienced 30 action-packed minutes when he fished Kastellet in Copenhagen recently and netted an impressive triple. Thomas reports:
– The day I caught the fish was the first evening with high-pressure since the heat wave started so I just had to go out. I started fishing for some small roaches with my pole rod before I moved on to deeper water to fish for pike. I chose to fish with small 10 cm roaches so that I might also run into other species than pike. After only a few minutes the first pike was landed.

Then I found my polaroid glasses to see if I could spot a tench. Luckily I could and after a short fight a beautiful fish was in the bag of the net. As I was unhooking the fish I could hear the line running off the wheel on the other rod. This resulted in a 1.1 kg. perch.

A perfect tench from Kastellet weighing roughly 2.5 kg
Congratulations to Thomas with the impressive triple. Sometimes it can be difficult to catch just a single pike on an evening of fishing so netting these three in that kind of tempo is not too bad.

Pretty 1.1. kg perch that got tempted by the live roach
Location: Kastellet (fishing card from Kastellets venner required). All fish must be released
Method: Live roach for the pike and perch and corn for the tench
