For some years I´ve been experimenting with hook setups to increase my landing rate when fishing for seatrout on the coast. So when Jens Bursell released his release connector last year, I was obviously curious. Here is what I learned from my three first trips.
The water temperature is down to 4 – 5 celsius in most of the harbour. Yesterday I once again went on a trip with a Deeper sonar, which clearly shows that there are lesser fish now than three weeks ago. We got company by a seal and I got a new PR in crab.
Marcus had an epic trip in the harbour this week where he banked a spectacular triple consisting of a seatrout, rainbow trout and two cod. Spinstops and a lot of movement were the lethal weapons that paved the way for the catches. Read his full catch report here.
There is nothing quite like bicycling through the city in the direction of a quay that you know hold fish. This evening I did just that when I went to Orientkaj in Nordhavn. The spot didn´t fail to deliver.
There are lots of flatfish in the harbour right now and Johnni Frederiksen sure knows how to catch em´.
Yesterday Jens and Pernille from Copenhagen had their first ever fishing trip and caught their first ever fish in the last cast. It was completely dark when the cod slammed hit the jig and Pernille got a fighting experience she will never forget.
On the 18th of November I arrange a little fishing meetup in Nordhavn for all the anglers in the Facebook group “Fiskeri i Københavns Havn”. You are invited too.
When Frederik guided the friendly fowks Deborah and David from Alaska on a streetfishing trip Yesterday they skipped the intro and got right to it. It didn´t take them long to catch their first Copenhagen cod. Read Frederik´s report here.
