Fishing Copenhagen

Fishing trips in Copenhagen

100 kg porbeagle found outside a fishing shop in Copenhagen.

This week my father gave me a real treat – an old school Danish fishing book from 1953 entitled What all anglers should know (Hvad enhver lystfisker bør vide) by Ludvig Svendsen. To turn the pages in this book feels like travelling in time. It was written in a period where Danish seas were full of tuna and anglers could catch cod an eel in monstrous numbers. So much has changed since then.

The pictures in the book is breathtaking and it is so cool to look at the clothes and gear that were used back then. This is simply too good not to share so I´ve photographed pictures of the 20 best photos in the book and will pass them on here. (Not sure if the copyright police will come after me for this but the book is more than 60 years old so I figured it will be ok).

Here you can see the fantastic photos from the book with my translations. Enjoy the trip down memory lane.
